Helping BC Scores Grant Project (funded by SAMHSA)

The following programs are renewed on a yearly basis provided there is funding available.

Youth Ambassador Program (YAP)

The Youth Ambassador Program is a Beaver County initiative designed to educate youth about mental illness and reduce the stigma associated with it.

YAP members work with BCRC staff and other social service agency providers to plan programs and events in their school districts and throughout the county to increase awareness about mental illness. Students learn to identify when they need to reach out for help and how to access mental health services for assistance.

Students in grades 8-12 in all Beaver County school districts are eligible to participate.

Supported Education Services

When mental illness disrupts the education process, our Supported Education services help you get back on track to complete high school and help you prepare for life after graduation.

Available to youth, ages 13-21, our Supported Education services promote career development and improve long-term work opportunities. These services include:

• Career Planning
• Academic Survival Skills
• Education Assistance, (including enrollment and financial aid assistance)
• Outreach Opportunities

You'll work with a vocational specialist to explore your interests, identify your goals and develop a plan to help you move forward.

Parent Coaching Support

Gain the skills and confidence you need to parent more effectively and resolve conflict with your child.

Our parent coaches work with you to establish open lines of communication with your child, create boundaries and implement appropriate consequences for challenging behaviors. We help you develop strategies to reduce stress in your family and stay focused when your child exhibits challenging behaviors.

This program is available to families with children ages 13-21.

Youth and Young Adult Psychiatric Rehab

We believe that with appropriate supports, youth and young adults with a mental health diagnosis can enjoy a healthy and fulfilling future.

Our youth and young adult psychiatric rehabilitation program is a voluntary program that helps people, ages 14-21, develop a solid foundation for recovery as they transition into adulthood.

The program helps foster the skills and confidence you need to explore meaningful roles in all areas of your life including; personal, vocational, education and social - as you establish your place in the community.

We provide support in home and community-based settings, depending on personal goals. We have participants with similar goals working together when appropriate to provide an opportunity to practice the skills they're developing and to learn from their peers.
