At BCRC, we believe recovery is possible.

Aurora Psychiatric Rehabilitation is a subdivision of BCRC that helps people with psychiatric needs develop the skills necessary to achieve their goals for recovery.

Rooted in the recovery model of mental health, our program provides support, education and training to help you participate in your community and lead the life you want to live.

We work with you to identify the roles you want to reclaim in the living, learning, working, and social spheres of your life. Collaboratively, we formulate an individualized plan to help you acquire the skills that will promote successful roles attainment, as well as the ability to maintain chosen roles.

We offer group and individualized services on-site and in the community, depending on your personal needs and preferences.

Our instruction on a variety of subjects is designed to empower you to make choices that will increase your satisfaction in all areas of your life. We teach skills designed to improve wellness and self-worth, while promoting independence and social responsibility.

A few topics we cover include:

  • Communication skills
  • Workplace stress relief
  • Healthy relationships and building supports
  • Self-confidence for pursuing education or employment
  • Art as a recovery tool

We also incorporate new topics based on participant suggestions and input.

This service is 100% voluntary, but does have specific guidelines that need met in order to participate.
