Aurora is very proud of the many successes of the individuals who have participated in our program. Here are some of their Testimonials:

“Aurora helps me in many ways including reaching goals we’ve set for my recovery. I am working towards returning to college and I also have lost 50 pounds. I now spend full days at work instead of sleeping all day. The practitioners at Aurora are easy to work with and are great people. I would recommend Aurora to anyone who needs a place to go to help recover from mental illness.” J.N

“Aurora was and still is a safe haven for me. When I needed a pick me up after my breakdown, Aurora was here for me.” L.S.

“It helped me to meet more people with problems like mine. It helps with stress and understanding my medications.” P.T.

“It helps me to deal with my anger. I have less anger and stress.” V.G.

“Aurora has helped me become more aware of what I am lacking and helps me to overcome that.” S.S.P.

“I am grateful to my mentors in various groups at Aurora. They share their experiences with me and each other. I’ve listened and become strengthened. My hope is that I might improve my own understanding.” P.K.

“For me, Aurora has become a safe place where I can be myself and have my illness known to others without fear of judgment or undue questioning. The staff has always been courteous and friendly to me and has acknowledged my current limitations while encouraging me to strive for the most fulfilling life I can attain. If possible, I try to attend Aurora five days a week because it provides structure for me while in recovery. I am currently on disability, but am striving to regain my mental and physical health enough to work once again. The people at Aurora constantly encourage me not to give up and we regularly discuss ways to integrate the techniques I learn in group sessions into my recovery plans.

Aurora also provides me with much needed social stimulation that I otherwise would not have. My peers have been supportive and friendly throughout many difficult times and they provide a level of understanding and compassion for others with mental illness that is not easy to find in everyday life. I can honestly say that I would recommend Aurora’s services to anyone who is being treated for mental illness on an outpatient basis and is in need of a little gentle care and attention. Mental illness is difficult enough to bear; it need not be done alone.” E.A.
